Jailer / Detention Officer
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office is taking applications for Jailer position.  Jailer duties include but are not limited to: taking care of inmates processing, dealing with inmates and their needs; such as meals, medications, and transporting to court or other facilities.
 
Qualifications
Successful applicant must have a valid driver’s license and will be required to participate in a Police Screening Evaluation & Assessment and in the FHWA 382 county-wide drug-testing program.  Applicant must consent to a background check, be 18 years of age, and a have high school diploma or GED. Starting wage is $16.05/hr. with a 2.5% increase after successfully completing six (6) month probationary period.
