Opening for Admissions Counselor: North Central Kansas Technical College has an opening for an Admissions Counselor. This position may be located on the Beloit or Hays campus or may have the option of living and working remotely for the right candidate. This is a 12-month position, responsible for facilitating all aspects of the recruitment of students.
Qualifications include:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to lift, set-up and transport recruiting displays, promotional items and College simulators
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the school year
- Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Coordination of admissions effort with multi-member Admissions team;
- Extensive travel in primary and secondary recruiting areas during peak times with some overnight travel required;
- Attend career planning conferences, trade shows and fairs;
- Actively develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors and technical education instructors;
- Coordinate High School visits;
- Maintain accurate and timely information in computer database system;
- Coordinate all follow-up efforts in conjunction with the admissions effort;
- Host campus visits;
- Actively participate in College-wide recruitment and orientation events;
- Develop and maintain travel calendar of admissions activities;
- Maintain regular communication with supervisor regarding admissions efforts;
- Perform other duties as required by the Dean of Student Services.
