A Facilities Maintenance Technician oversees general repairs and other maintenance needs for university buildings, systems, utilities, equipment, and other property. Ensures a safe and functional environment that facilitates learning. Monitors assigned areas and performs maintenance, repairs, and inspections. This position specializes in HVAC and food service equipment repair. Is required to be on call one week a month.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have one year experience working in a maintenance capacity.
- A valid state driver's license is required.
- Must live within 15 miles of FHSU Campus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree from a trade school.
- Three years experience in HVAC repair.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Main focus of this position will be HVAC and food service equipment repair.
- Learn the basics of all building trades so you can respond to emergency calls.
- Respond to emergency calls and follow repairs through to completion.
- Coordinate and prioritize work.
- Assure all scheduled maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner.
- Work with other trade skill sets to complete work orders to trade standards and customer expectations.
- Supervise student employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
