Fort Hays State University’s Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time, nine-month Clinical Psychology Faculty and Clinic Coordinator position. We seek a creative, collaborative, and engaging faculty member who will contribute positively to the department’s culture of innovative teaching, student-centered mentoring, and dedicated service to our graduate and undergraduate programs.

Faculty Duties:
The ideal candidate will be prepared to teach on-campus and online courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Research and scholarly activities resulting in presentations and publications are expected. Service to the department, university, local community, and discipline at large is expected.

Coordinator Duties:
Coordinator duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Coordination and oversight of the Psychological Screening Clinic
  • Coordinate graduate student practicum and internship sites    

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s in Psychology with an emphasis in clinical or counseling psychology
  • Licensed as a psychologist (at the doctoral or masters level including LP, LCP, or LMLP in KS, or eligibility to secure license by start date)
  • Experience in psychological assessment and evaluation
     
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field (degree must be conferred by date of appointment).
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in designing and teaching on-campus and online classes
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in supervising students and/or professionals
  • Relevant assessment experience in intelligence, educational, and neurodivergence.

About the Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology has 12 full-time faculty members and approximately 600 undergraduate majors and graduate students. The Department offers a BA and BS in Psychology; three M.S. degrees with specialization in clinical, experimental, and school psychology; and a school psychology Education Specialist degree (Ed.S.). The department has a tradition of involving undergraduate students in research, and the school psychology program enjoys close working relationships with local school districts. The department is excited to welcome a new faculty member to a collegial and innovative institution, which is always willing to try something new and exciting in the spirit of better educating and preparing our students.

Community of Hays
FHSU is located in Hays, a vibrant college town of approximately 20,000, located halfway between Kansas City and Denver on Interstate 70. Hays is the regional center for education, health care, professional services, shopping, culture, and recreation for the western half of Kansas.
