This position will be part-time Facilities Maintenance Technician and part-time Locksmith. A Facilities Maintenance Technician oversees general repairs and other maintenance needs for university buildings systems, utilities, equipment, and other property, with emphasis on maintaining the Cunningham Hall swimming pool. A locksmith installs, maintains, and repairs mechanical and electronic door locks and other related equipment. Provides service for locking mechanisms, and building access systems within campus facilities.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A valid state driver’s license
  • One year of related professional experience
  • Proficient in spreadsheet computer record keeping

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A trade school degree
  • More than one year of experience as a locksmith
  • More than one year of experience in maintenance
  • Experience in plumbing
  • Experience in electrical

Responsibilities:

Facilities Maintenance Technician
  • This position will maintain the Cunningham Hall swimming pool, including maintaining chemical levels, cleaning and replacing filters as necessary, maintain pool, repair or replace pumps when necessary.
  • Assist with plumbing, electrical and HVAC projects or repairs as needed for maintenance and construction.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance as schedule allows.
  • Perform other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor.

Locksmith
  • Install and maintain all electronic and mechanical locks, card access systems, and all other related equipment.
  • Establish key patterns and install key systems for new buildings.
  • Repair or replace all broken panic door hardware, door closers, hinges, and locksets for buildings.
  • Set or reset lock cylinders to provide a key and lock system that ensures security to buildings.
  • Maintain inventory for replacement hardware.
  • Evaluate, update, and maintain the computer record keeping system for all locks on campus.
  • Respond to work requests in a timely manner with courteous, professional service.
