First Care Clinic is seeking applicants for a Full-Time Accounting Clerk!

*Prior accounting experience is required.
*Experience with medical billing and coding is preferred, but not required.

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting and assisting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with general accounting duties and billing and coding support.

Primary Duties Include:
1. Maintain accurate accounting records.
2. Monthly financial reporting duties including, but not limited to preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
3. Monitor accounts receivable aging
4. Assist with tracking fixed assets and inventory
5. Work with the financial services representative to support accurate billing and coding of services.
6. Assist with annual financial statement audits and regulatory reporting.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills or Abilities:
1. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, and the public.
2. Enthusiasm for working as a member of a team in a rapidly changing environment.
3. Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations. 
4. Must be able to document in a neat, legible manner and be able to spell medical terminology correctly.
5. Must exhibit initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific orders.
6. Must exhibit professional demeanor by being helpful, courteous, and efficient when dealing with other employees or outside agencies.
7. Ability to prioritize tasks to provide appropriate, efficient, and quality patient care.
8. Ability to anticipate and react calmly in emergency situations.
9. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and facilitation communication skills.     
10. Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with unsatisfied patients and coworkers effectively and respectfully. 
11. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
12. Strong time management, priority setting, work delegation and work organization skills.
13. Ability to follow written policies and procedures.
14. Ability to work independently and use good judgment.
15. Knowledge of standard office machines including copier, fax, multi-line phones, printers, scanners, etc.
16. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft and Office 365 programs.
17. Ability to work as a productive and effective team member, be flexible, and adapt to needs/​priorities.
18. Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient and employee base.
