Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital - Nursing is looking for a full-time Infection Control/Quality/Antibiotic Stewardship RN. 

Position Overview 

The Infection Control Specialist is a qualified individual with knowledge of CDC guidelines and definitions of infections, and federal and state regulations. Responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention, and control of healthcare associated infections among patients/residents and personnel. 

The Quality Coordinator has primary responsibilities for directing and managing non-clinical and clinical improvement initiatives of TCLMH, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting improved health care outcomes. Establishes a vision and direction for the Quality Improvement program within the framework of current regulation, market initiatives, existing program work plans and the hospital strategic plan. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Comprehensive knowledge of infection prevention and control process in the healthcare setting.


•Have primary professional training in nursing, medical technology, microbiology, epidemiology, or other related fields.


•Demonstrates ability to teach principles and practical application of infection prevention and control to all levels of healthcare personnel.


•Stays abreast of changing infection prevention and control practices and presents plan for compliance in a timely manner.


•Design, direct and oversee implementation of clinical quality improvement programs with the guidance of the quality improvement committee.


•Supports department directors in developing and implementing the necessary teams, tools, and care process changes in parallel with hospital efforts to improve patient outcomes and develop innovative approaches to primary care delivery reform.


•Responsible for Antibiotic Stewardship


QUALIFICATIONS


•Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Kansas.


•Minimum 2 years experience in a hospital or 2 years in infection control


•Ability to ensure compliance with state regulations.
