Full-Time Recovery Worker

Pay: from $18.22 per hour

Hours: Full-time 

Position Overview:
Are you dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals with severe mental health challenges? We are seeking a Full-Time Recovery Worker to join our team and provide essential services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness or children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbances. This is a rewarding full-time position where you will have the opportunity to provide direct support to individuals in community settings, ensuring they maintain a stable lifestyle and progress toward their treatment goals. 

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering Attendant Care, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Respite Care, and Crisis Intervention services. Additionally, you will assist with clerical duties as needed, contributing to the overall success of our program. This is a 40-hour per week position, with flexibility required based on program needs, including weekends. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide Attendant Care, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and Crisis Intervention to clients in crisis or at risk of decompensating in a variety of community settings.
  • Deliver one-on-one support or supervision to consumers and families, helping maintain daily routines essential for a stable lifestyle, in alignment with the consumer’s treatment plan.
  • Assist in implementing psychosocial rehabilitation activities under the guidance of a Center QMHP, addressing the specific needs of each patient.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, including mood and behavior, and report on consumer outcomes.
  • Respond to crisis situations effectively, alerting supervisors or team members as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all client interactions and share necessary information with appropriate program staff.
  • Complete required documentation on time and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform clerical duties, including filing, answering phones, scheduling, and organizing supplies, as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Focus on client care during your shifts, with clerical duties completed when clients do not require intensive supervision.
  • Participate in the Schwaller Center on-call rotation as directed by your supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain professional, respectful relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Accept and apply feedback from supervisors to continuously improve job performance.
  • Follow all Center rules, regulations, and policies to ensure a safe and effective work environment.\

Qualifications: 
  • One year of college coursework in human services or one year of experience in human services; a combination of education and experience is acceptable.
  • At least 18 years old; if the consumer is under 18, you must be at least 3 years older.
  • Experience in providing services to individuals with mental illness or severe emotional disturbance (this includes family caregivers or individuals with personal experience in mental health recovery).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing severe mental health challenges.
  • Certification in basic attendant care training required within 30 days of employment, with additional training within six months of employment.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Kansas driver’s license with a clean driving record (no alcohol-related incidents in the last five years).
  • Ability to perform clerical tasks such as filing, answering phones, and scheduling with accuracy.
  • Proficiency in technology, including the use of computers, software applications, phones, printers, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a variety of settings and manage responsibilities independently.
