Employment Connections provides individuals with opportunities for learning employment skills and support in obtaining and securing positive employment options. The services are provided for individuals who are 18 years of age or older, who need assistance in finding and maintaining employment, and reside in the 18 northwest counties of Kansas. The scope of the services provided to the individual is defined by them, their guardian, their team and available funding sources.
Job Summary
Provide clerical support for assigned staff.
Essential Functions
- Process incoming communications via telephone or personal visit, taking messages as necessary.
- Perform word processing, including transcription when necessary, for assigned staff.
- Maintain office supply inventories.
- Maintain meeting room schedule.
- Maintain vehicle and/or equipment checkout log.
- Oversee petty cash fund.
- Maintain central filing system.
- Schedule repair and maintenance of office machines as approved by supervisor.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Record minutes at meetings for assigned staff as requested utilizing the Minutes Database.
- Remain current in office procedure technology through internal and external training resources.
- Copy and/or collate manuals, reports, and packets upon request.
- Maintain master key box.
Other Responsibilities
- May be required to hire and supervise other clerical staff.
- May be required to complete transportation ticket sale transactions.
- May be required to complete data entry of tally cards.
- Maintain office bulletin board.
- May be required to perform CDDO administrative functions as outlined in the DD Reform Act of 1995 following the regulations in K.A.R. 30-63 and 30-64.
- Complete other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Will have access to PHI and EPHI of individuals required to perform clerical support for management and professional staff.
- This position is not subject to the two year training period as defined by KPERS.
Job Specifications
Education - High School diploma or equivalent preferred, related post secondary training preferred. Related post secondary certification may substitute for experience requirement.
Experience - One year related experience including word processing required.
Extent of physical effort required: Routine job requirements. Little if any behavior or other physical intervention.
Comments: Position may have other physical requirements for specific work sites, i.e. climbing stairs, extended periods of standing, etc.
Other Requirements
- Able to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Valid driver's license.
