Downtown Hays Development Corporation is seeking to fill the position of Executive Director. The primary function of this position is to serve as a leader and manager who will successfully execute goals set by Downtown Hays Development Corporation to achieve its mission while employing best practices and strong internal controls. Additionally, this person will be responsible for fund/revenue development, program growth, building partnerships with key players, and serving as a community advocate.
Duties Include:-Working with property owners and businesses to ensure a vibrant downtown
-Cultivating relationships with Downtown Merchants, Chamber of Commerce, Convention & Visitors Bureau, Grow Hays, local government, business owners, residents and other nonprofit organizations
-Leading fundraising efforts
-Managing all marketing and promotional efforts
-Managing support staff and volunteers during sponsored events
-Budget development and allocation
-Reporting to Board of Directors
The ideal applicant will have education and experience in the following areas: historic preservation, economic development, marketing, grant writing, volunteer and nonprofit management, fundraising, communication and financial acumen.
Additionally, the candidate we seek will be energetic & organized, will possess excellent public speaking and written communication skills, and be capable of inspiring volunteers, business professionals and the community.
