High Plains Mental Health Center currently has a full time position opening in the Hadley Building for a Community Engagement and Education Specialist.
 

New employees will receive a $325 sign-on bonus following successful completion of their 90 day orientation period.

  • 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
  • No working Weekends or Holidays

The Community Engagement and Education Specialist plans, develops and implements community outreach and education activities, including Mental Health First Aid trainings, community presentations, educational or outreach events with the goals of enhancing public knowledge about the Center, reducing stigma around mental illness and sharing information about access to mental health services.


Qualifications: 
The preferred qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, leadership studies, behavioral health care, social services or other related fields. Preference for individuals who are bilingual Spanish-speaking and have strong social skills and cultural competence to help engage specific under-served populations, including veterans/military service members and those in the agriculture industry.


Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license and a good driving record with no alcohol related incidents within the last five years. Must also be able to successfully pass an intensive background check.
