Reporting Relationship: Reports Directly to Clinic Director
Primary Accountability:
Provide social services in the vast field of public and medical heath, children and families or persons experiencing any mental health and substance abuse challenges.
Major Duties:
- Counseling and helping patients confront issues that are negatively affecting their way of living such as poverty, abuse, mental health, addiction, etc.
- Responsible for interviewing families, individuals and groups.
- Assesses the needs as well as develops appropriate response plans for patients.
- Refers patients to community services or any health care professional.
- Coordinates responses on civic groups, governmental, religious and other organizations.
- Assists patients in accepting various situations with emphasis on events that can’t be changed.
- Collects and assesses initial and on-going data about the health status, cultural influences and belief or value system of the patient and surrounding communities.
- Provides children, youth and adult behavioral health therapy and counseling service.
- Primary job setting is outpatient therapy. Inpatient therapy services may be requested occasionally based on patient needs.
Qualifications: ·
- Master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy) ·
- Current Kansas BSRB licensure as one of the following:
- Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Master Level Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist
- Licensed Master Social Worker (clinical track) or Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker
- Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with Mental Health Training track (or equivalent experience)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist
