The City of Hays is currently looking for a Part Time Maintenance Worker within the Solid Waste Division. Duties include hauling recycling to Hutchinson weekly, collecting and processing recyclable materials, general maintenance duties, grounds maintenance, and minor construction projects.
General operation time Monday-Thursday 6:30am - 3:00pm & Friday 6:30am – 12:30pm. Position has some flexibility in hours, but most Fridays are required. Total hours between 15-20 hours per week.
RequirementsValid driver’s license required and Class B CDL preferred. Must be 18 years or older. The ideal candidate would have a history of showing dependability, teamwork, and punctuality. Exposure to hazardous chemicals, machinery, excessive noise, and all types of weather conditions is expected. Strong communications & mechanical skills required.
CompensationPay Range: $14.26 - $18.24/hour.
