Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital's Business Office is looking for a full-time Patient Accounts and LTC Billing Representative.

Position Overview
Responsible for a variety of office/clerical tasks related to Long Term Care and Hospital patient accounts; including, but not limited to submitting claims, collecting and posting payments on patient accounts, generating monthly statements, conversing with insurance companies and patients about claims and patient accounts, helping patients/guarantors understand their financial responsibilities and providing them with information on State and facility assistance programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Long Term Care and Assisted Living staff to facilitate admission, discharge and billing of insurance claims and resident statements.
- Process Long Term Care and Assisted Living applications which will involve conversing with patient and/or family members.
- Assist current and potential Long Term Care residents and/or their families with the Medicaid application process
- Generate monthly bills for Long Term Care, Assisted Living, Meals on Wheels, and Lifeline patients.
- Submit, process and manage patient insurance claims which includes posting, troubleshooting and appeals as necessary
- Explain insurance benefits to patients and answer questions about their account
- Encourage and help patients apply for State and facility financial assistance when required.
- Collect payments from patients for processing and posting to proper account
- Follow collection process; includes written and verbal correspondence with patients on unpaid claims
- Assist patients with terms for repayment structures as recommended by policy
- Post personal payments to patient accounts
- Compile monthly report of past due accounts scheduled to go to collections
- Cover hospital registration as necessary
- Assist other personnel as directed by Department Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
· High School graduate or equivalent
· Patient and pleasant personality; ability to exhibit cooperation and flexibility; works well with a variety of people
· Must have excellent customer service and phone etiquette skills
· Detail oriented and self-motivated with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
· Capable of maintaining composure in stressful situations
