Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital's Food Services Department is looking for a full-time Cook Assistant. Shift 5am - 1:30pm.
Position Overview
Under the direct supervision of the Food Service Manager and Dietitian, the Food Service Worker (Cook Assistant) will prepare and serve desserts and salads for patients, residents, staff, and visitors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares desserts and salads according to the menu and recipes.
- Follows standardized recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Prepares nourishments according to diets and requests, then delivers at specified times.
- Uses proper handling to ensure food safety.
- Keeps employee reach in refrigerator and employee line sufficiently stocked.
- Maintains work area in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
- Scrubs pots and pans for the dishwasher.
- Serves as a cashier for employees and visitors in food service line.
- Calculates and records percent eaten by LTC residents.
- Maintains high standards of sanitation, housekeeping, and safety in operation and care of equipment.
- Documents diet orders and changes made to diets.
- Assist in serving meals.
- Prepares selective menus two days ahead and collects menus filled out for the next day.
- Maintains the kitchen in a clean, neat and organized manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school graduate or equivalent.
· Previous experience in the food service industry.
