This position is responsible for all aspects of human resource management, including employment and benefit administration, compensation, payroll processing, employee relations and performance management. Apply all policies and procedures relating to federal, state and university employment law/regulations. Works collaboratively with others on departmental or university-wide initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years experience in a human resource related field.
- Experience in employee relations or conflict resolution.
- Skill in communicating effectively in situations of conflict and high stress.
- Demonstrated issue management/problem solving skills.
- Experience with Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS), such as Workday.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing Human Resources programs and the employment relationship.

Essential Duties:
1) Employment and Benefit Administration
- Plans, organizes and develops processes and/or programs relating to the comprehensive benefits programs.
- Administer benefit programs to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Counsels employees regarding retirement and other benefit plan options.
- Analyze benefits and compensation and other human resource programs.
- Strategic development skills to develop, evaluate and implement an effective HRMS onboarding processes.
- Interprets policies and procedures related to staffing for the campus community.
2) Compensation and Payroll Processing
- Accurately respond to inquiries and apply academic compensation models as well as standard compensation models.
- Assist with calculation and application of annual compensation changes and communication with campus community.
- Review employee changes for accurate bi-weekly payroll processing.
3) Employee Relations
- Provides advice on the resolution of employee relations, classification and salary, and other employment related complaints and/or grievances.
- Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policy and procedures and helping resolve work-related problems.
- Facilitates mediation or dispute resolution and grievance resolution activities.
- Investigates employee complaints and facilitates resolution.
- Partners to design and promote standardized processes, templates, tools and/or technologies for use in managing employee relations activities, corrective action administration and escalated issue resolution protocols.
4) Employee Medical Management
- Process FMLA, shared leave, workers compensation, leave without pay, and provide disability counseling
- Responds to ADA inquiries, reviews workspace and makes recommendations.
