The Production Manager is responsible for schedule prioritization, safety compliance, and quality control.
Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Prioritizes daily schedule with supervisor and quality control.
2. Teams with supervisors on safety awareness for all employees.
3. Institutes changes made by Engineer and advises on questions made by supervisors, QC, and workers on blueprints or assembly procedures.
4. Coordinates with necessary departments for any parts needing to be built or cut and ensures daily time log sheets are completed accurately.
5. Assures parts and/or assembled kits are brought from the warehouse in a timely fashion.
6. Makes sure parts are labeled, recorded, and stored in a proper place for convenient and accurate assembly.
7. Ensure all containers containing hazardous materials are labeled, kept covered when not actively in use, and that assigned subordinates do the same.
8. Properly dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with KDHE requirements including spraying waste paint into designated containers and when running chemicals through spray equipment. Ensure subordinates do the same.
9. Comply with prescribed safety procedures or federal laws regulating waste disposal methods and ensure subordinates do the same.
10. Additional hazardous waste activities may include, with further training, operating the solvent reclaimer, conducting weekly inspections of hazardous waste storage areas, reviewing/signing waste disposal manifests, moving hazardous waste containers to storage area, cleanup of minor chemical/hazardous waste spills, and supervision of those tasked with those functions.
11. Coordinates the schedule and fabrication of products and parts with necessary departments.
12. Performs quality control checks and solves daily problems for supervisors and quality control.
13. Meets with vendors, schedule machinery repairs, maintains inventory counts on spreadsheets, and assists in providing safety training.
14. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Secures tools, materials, and equipment at end of day.
15. Performs additional duties as needed.
