The Rodeo Assistant Coach will perform all duties as assigned by the Head Rodeo Coach. Duties include assisting with all duties of livestock management, arena and building maintenance. The Assistant Coach will also be available to assist with practice, ground preparation for rodeo practice and the annual FHSU rodeo. Responsibilities will include daily preparation of rodeo practice arena and the movement of livestock for the purpose of maintaining timely practice for the rodeo team. Feeding and care of rodeo practice livestock will be expected with responsibilities on weekdays and weekends. Hours and duties vary weekly.

Specific Duties
  • Feed and Care of all practice stock
  • Prepare practice arenas, watering and working with tractor
  • Cleanup and maintenance of facilities, 
  • Maintain horse boarding facilities.
  • Assist with practice as needed
  • Help with the preparation of weekend fund raisers, clinics and other events organized by the rodeo team and coaches.
  • Assist with the annual FHSU Rodeo

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1 to 2 years rodeo experience, participating or coaching at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPR/First Aid/ AED Certification
  • Equipment Skills: Experience with heavy/light equipment such as tractors, skid steers, water trucks, and/or arena groomers
