STORMWATER SUPERINTENDENT
The City of Hays is searching for its next Stormwater Superintendent. The Stormwater Superintendent oversees the City’s Stormwater Division. This exempt position develops and implements outreach, illicit discharge detection and elimination, and runoff control programs.
This employee will manage the City’s NPDES Stormwater General Permit compliance efforts, prepares the NPDES Stormwater annual report, and leads enforcement efforts with respect to stormwater regulations including performing inspections, preparing reports and performing follow-up investigations. This position also oversees two full time employees.
Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday with flexible hours. Occasional weekends and evenings may be required.
REQUIREMENTS
A college degree or equivalent training and experience is required. This position requires a valid Driver’s License. Field experience working with contractors and regulatory agencies is beneficial. Prior experience with erosion and sediment control, pollution prevention, or watershed management strongly preferred. Will train the right candidate.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Full pay range: $68,856 - $82,289 plus excellent benefits including family health and dental insurance, paid time off, Kansas Public Employee Retirement System (KPERS), & longevity bonus.
