Thomas More Prep-Marian Jr/Sr High School (2A co-ed Catholic school, enrollment 281 students, JH portion is 133 students) is seeking a full-time junior high science/math teacher to inspire students to become proficient in the scientific method, analyzing data, experimentation, math skills, and creative thinking and problem solving necessary for success in college and career.
A successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Math or Science Education, Math, Biology, Chemistry, or related math/science field and be certified (or able to obtain certification) in Kansas. A Masters degree is preferred and will command a higher salary, as will teaching experience.
Successful candidates will have a strong ability to teach skills and content, while also organizing projects and experiences that are both cross curricular and college/career preparatory. Teachers at TMP-Marian are expected to develop caring relationships with students that allow them to demand greatness. TMP-Marian believes giving students multiple pathways to success will help all levels of students persevere in high school and in the future.
Experience and/or interest in a wide variety of technological tools and STREAM is a plus. TMP-Marian uses Google Classroom with students having access to Chromebooks on a 1:1 ratio, 3D printers, Drones, and other tools. Students will learn 21st Century communication skills in a variety of platforms.
