About the Classroom to Classroom Project:
The “Classroom to Classroom” (C2C) project will facilitate the movement of high school seniors and community college students to a four-year education and ultimately to a classroom in an underserved area. In this project, the Fort Hays State University (FHSU) Department of Teacher Education (DTE) will partner with Barton Community College (BCC), Dodge City Community College (DCCC), USD #443 Dodge City Schools, and USD #428 Great Bend Schools. Both partner communities are in underserved areas as recognized by KBOR. This project seeks to increase the number of elementary (K-6) and elementary special education (K-6) teachers in underserved and underrepresented communities by removing barriers for individuals already within the communities who wish to become teachers.

About the Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program:
The Registered Teacher Apprenticeship program is offered through the Kansas State Department of Education and provides students with a scholarship to offset tuition costs while they pursue their undergraduate (online) degree in education. While in the program, students take online classes while also working in a non-teaching role for an approved Kansas school district. For more information on this program, visit the following KSDE site: https://www.ksde.org/Agency/Division-of-Learning-Services/Teacher-Licensure-TL/Registered-Teacher-Apprenticeship
