JOB SUMMARIES/QUALIFICATIONS:



Personal Assistant: Teach skills and provide support to individuals served in their home and in the community. Shifts include all days of the week, morning, day, evening, or overnight hours. Prior personal or job related exposure to people with developmental disabilities is preferred.



Vehicle Operator: Provide safe and timely transportation of passengers to their requested destinations. High School diploma, equivalent preferred.  Public transportation experience and knowledge of Hays, KS preferred.   



Employment Specialist: Identify employment opportunities for individuals receiving services who have long or short term goals of employment.  Teach, develop and provide support for individuals receiving or desiring employment services. One year of human services experience required.  Prior personal or job related exposure to people with developmental disabilities preferred.  



Paraprofessional: Assist individuals served in the development of personal, social, and communication skills.  This is accomplished through group or individualized instruction conducted in the community or the developmental center. Prior personal or job related exposure to people with developmental disabilities is preferred.



Maintenance Technician: Perform general maintenance of DSNWK properties to ensure an attractive and safe environment for staff and persons served. Perform a preventative maintenance schedule, as assigned, for developmental centers, residential locations, and office areas and check facilities and equipment for potential problems. Perform general maintenance of DSNWK properties as assigned.



Vehicle Operator: Provide safe and timely transportation of passengers to their requested destinations. Perform on-time pick up and delivery of passengers. Public transportation experience preferred. Ability to make change and sell tickets. Ability to push and pull weights in excess of 150 pounds on a regular basis. Repetitive twisting, turning, bending, and stooping required.



Day Coordinator: Responsible for the operation of the day services program and coordinate this service with other agency programs and community based supports. BA/BS in a human services field, preferably education, or in Special Education or closely related field preferred. If not degreed, 5 years of human services experience required with at least four years of management/supervisory experience required. Experience in special education in a school system or community based program and management/supervisory experience is preferred.



Early Childhood Special Educator: Assist in the planning, organizing, and implementation of the early intervention services to infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities within the counties served by Kid-Link. Actively supervise and provide training and information to the Early Intervention Paraprofessional(s) using evidence based practices for quality services. Assess, evaluate, and provide assistance in the development of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) in meeting goals that are driven by the family outcomes desired. The treatment of the children and their families with dignity and respect is a prime responsibility. Bachelor's degree in Education with an endorsement of Early Childhood Handicapped or Early Childhood Unified, required. Certification as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher required.



Nurse: Licensed in the State of Kansas as a Practical Nurse. One year of professional nursing experience is preferred. Prior personal or job related exposure to people with developmental disabilities is preferred. Must be physically able to evacuate persons served in the event of an emergency and be able to apply necessary behavior management techniques as directed by the individual's Life Plan. Position may have other physical requirements for specific work sites, i.e. climbing stairs, extended periods of standing, etc.
