Fort Hays State University seeks an Assistant Director of Strategy & Operations to provide support and leadership to the Office of Student Engagement and Belonging. The Assistant Director will assist in the development of a vision for and the planning and implementation of a vibrant campus life program that engages the entire FHSU student community. This is a full-time, unclassified, 12-month appointment reporting to the Director of Student Engagement and Belonging.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of budgets and assessment activities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited, four-year college or university or 6 years experience in lieu of degree
- Experience with data collection, reporting, and assessment
- Familiarity with student success initiatives
- Experience working with all student populations
- Experience presenting to medium and large groups
- Proven ability to support institutional goals through student-centered recruitment and retention initiatives
Duties:
- Assist in planning and implementation of programming for the Office of Student Engagement and Belonging
- Assist with coordination of the Freshman Seminar class
- Assist with the leadership and training for student organizations, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Government Association, and Online Student Government Association
- Lead data collection and reporting for the Higher Learning Commission
- Build strong relationships with Residential Life and Memorial Union staff
- Support the preparation of annual reports, operational metrics, and assessments
- Assist with budget documentation, tracking, and report preparation.
- Assist with various projects as assigned by the Director of Student Engagement and Belonging or the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Health and Wellness/Auxiliary Services
- Assist with other duties as assigned
