High Plains Mental Health Center is looking for PRN Recovery Workers in Hays to transport children to respite homes from varied locations primarily on Fridays and Sundays or as assigned. Recovery Workers are front line workers who help patients and their families deal with the everyday challenges of living with a mental health diagnosis. Our goal is to help our clients reduce their symptoms and improve their independent functioning at home, school, work, and in the community, and Recovery Workers are a major part of that effort. PRN or “when needed” status allows for flexible scheduling that easily works around a school or second employment schedule. Recovery Workers must be at least 18 years of age and should demonstrate the interpersonal skills and experience to be able work with persons with severe and persistent mental illness. Applicants should possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record with no alcohol-related incidents within the last five years. Must be able to pass an intensive background check before beginning work.
