 DSNWK's Home Base Early Intervention Services (Kid-Link) for children birth - 3 years of age is looking for Infant/Toddler Professionals! We've recently expanded our services and will be hiring a Physical Therapist.

Pay Range: $43.00/hour - $47.30/hour contingent on credentials &/or experience.

Kid-Link has been proudly serving families in Norton, Phillips, Rooks, Smith, Osborne, and Russell counties since 1976. Now we are excited to include Ellis and Rus counties in our service area! Position may have the option to base out of Hays, KS, Russell, KS, or Stockton, KS.

Infant-toddler early intervention services are available to infants and toddlers to enhance development and minimize potential for developmental delays and recognize the significant brain development that occurs during the child's first three years. Services provided are unique and specific to each child's needs and occur in their homes. Intervention services include screenings, home visits, occupational, physical, speech or behavioral therapy and other intervention services - all performed by members of the Kid-Link team in conjunction with the child's Primary Care Provider.

Assist in the planning, organizing and implementation of the early intervention services to infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities within the counties served by Kid-Link.

Kid-Link Early Intervention is an evidence based coaching model that provides therapy services in the child's natural setting. The therapist will assist, evaluate and provide assistance in the development of the Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP) in meeting goals that are driven by the family outcomes desired Work with the Kid-Link.

Essential Functions
Work jointly with the Director, Family Services Manager and Kid-Link team to implement policies pertaining to the Kid-Link Program.

Serve as Primary Service Provider (PSP) and Joint Visitor as appropriate assigned caseload. Consult with team members in strategies and coaching to assist identified outcomes.

Act as the contact person for parents and other service providers linked to the Kid-Link early intervention program.

Report to the Director and Family Services Manager on potential problems within the Kid-Link program and other agencies associated with Kid-Link.

Participate in DSNWK long range planning process and the Kid-Link Network Continuous Improvement Plan by completing goals and objectives and reporting outcomes to the Family Service Manager.

Follow the procedures developed by DSNWK, the Kansas State Board, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and follow the Procedure Manual for Infant Toddler Services in Kansas.

Keep current on information, research and legislative concerns related to early intervention services and take action as needed to support the program.

Collaborate with the Kid-Link team to develop and ensure the implementation of the Individualized Family Service Plan for each child in the Kid-Link program.

Ensure the Infant Toddler database for Kansas Part C services is utilized with data entry, maintenance and revisions as required of the IFSP.

Complete appropriate screening and assessments for determining eligibility for infants and toddlers in the counties served.

Meet with Part B personnel to assist in transition communication and planning.

Complete required reports according to agency and State policies, licensure and accreditation standards in a timely manner.

Complete the Child Outcomes Summary forms per state requirements.

Assist with the transition process for children entering/exiting the Kid-Link program to facilitate a smooth and timely transition.

Assist with Kid-Link public awareness for early intervention services, child find and fundraising activities.

Obtain training necessary to maintain licensing and DSNWK training requirements.

Participate in agency, community and state meetings and activities as directed.

Ensure rights of the Kid-Link children are maintained.

Report health, safety and ANE issues to appropriate personnel per agency policies, In addition, report to the state as required for mandates for ANE issues.

Maintain license and licensing insurance.

Provide information and resources to parents, which will enable them to support their child's developmental progress.

Provide therapy notes and documentation as required by Kid-Link and state. Ensure that billings are entered per agency policy.

Assist staff in reporting transportation related items (ie. end of month mileage report, repairs).

HIPAA Compliance
This position is responsible for maintaining confidentiality for all PHI and EPHI that is shared with them. This employee will have access to all PHI and ePHI for individuals whom they support as a member of the IFSP Team or for whom they provide back-up services and involvement in investigations, as required.

KPERS Eligibility
This position is not subject to the two year training period as defined by KPERS.

Other Responsibilities
Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs and Services and/or Family Services Manager.

Job Specifications
Education - Must hold an active therapy license/certification in Kansas and active HPSO insurance.

Experience - A minimum of six months experience working with individuals, preferably preschool children, with developmental disabilities. Be able to use technology and have a background in assistive technology to assist with therapy.

Extent of physical effort required- Routine job requirements. Little if any behavior or other physical intervention. Must be physically able to evacuate children in the event of an emergency and apply necessary behavior management techniques as directed by the Family Support Plan Team. Position may have other physical requirements for specific settings, i.e. climbing stairs, sitting on the floor, lifting small children, toys and equipment, etc.

DSNWK is interested in every qualified therapist who is licensed in the state of Kansas. However, DSNWK is not able to sponsor visas at this time.

Other Requirements
Valid driver's license as well as a satisfactory driving record.

Background checks required.

Desire to work with children with developmental disabilities and/or developmental delays.

Able to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.

Must have good people skills.

Must have good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

CPR/First Aid License or ability to obtain upon employment.
