POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a full-time, on-site Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner role based in Ellis, KS. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide mental health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment for patients across the lifespan, including medication management and therapeutic interventions. Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring continuity of care within the hospital and affiliated care centers. The role involves conducting follow-up visits, monitoring treatment outcomes, educating patients and families on mental health conditions and treatment options, and documenting all care in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards. The practitioner will also support quality improvement initiatives related to mental health services and contribute to a safe, patient-centered environment.


 


QUALIFICATIONS


 

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Mental Health Nursing and Nursing, with experience caring for diverse patient populations.
  • Candidates should possess expertise as Nurse Practitioners, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Mental Health Care and Psychiatric Care, including crisis intervention and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Kansas, with psychiatric or mental health certification preferred.
  • Graduate degree (MSN or DNP) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Experience in hospital, primary care, or community mental health settings is beneficial.
  • Strong communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, cultural sensitivity, and continuous professional development.
