Fort Hays State University invites applications for the position of Medical Diagnostic Imaging Faculty of the Department of Allied Health. FHSU is seeking an innovative leader who will collaborate with the department faculty to facilitate the current vision and goals of the Allied Health department in supporting the graduate imaging program, the Radiologic Technology program, the Medical Diagnostic Imaging (MDI) program, the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program, and on-line certificate programs. The general responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate on-campus and on-line courses, mentoring students, participating in scholarly activities, and engaging in professional service. THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Allied Health is one of six academic departments in the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences and currently serves approximately 300 majors. The graduate program consists of the Master of Professional Studies in Medical Imaging Education or Medical Imaging Administration. Undergraduate programs lead to the Associate of Science degree in Radiologic Technology, Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Diagnostic Imaging, and Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Diagnostic Imaging with emphasis in ultrasound. The department also provides five certificate programs available in CT, MRI, Women’s Imaging, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography, and Healthcare Administration.
RESPONSIBILITES: The responsibilities of the position could include classroom and/or laboratory instruction, on-line teaching of undergraduate and/or potential graduate coursework, coordinating clinical experiences to include clinical travel, mentoring and recruitment of students, and engaging in service and scholarly related activities. This individual will be expected to facilitate the current vision and goals established within the department. Through collaboration with fellow colleagues, the faculty member will strive to support all programs within the Department of Allied Health.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree; 2) Must be ARRT and/or ARDMS credentialed; 3) Minimum of two years of full-time clinical experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: 1) Master of Science or doctoral degree; 2) Involvement in appropriate professional organizations; 3) Excellent communication and leadership skills; 4) Familiarity with educational technology; 5) Successful teaching experience both on-campus and on-line; and 6) Experience in any of the following specialty areas: mammography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, cardiovascular-interventional technology, diagnostic medical sonography, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, bone densitometry, PACS administration, or imaging administration.
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
