Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital's Human Resources department is looking for a full-time Human Resources Manager.


Full-time 


Position Overview


Provide overall strategic human resource leadership to the organization.  Oversee the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs and services, including, regulatory compliance, compensation and benefits, employee relations, employment procedures, recruitment, selection, retention and leadership development.  Assess and participate in the organization’s personnel practices to administer consistent application.


 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews and makes recommendations to Executive Management for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and insures organizational compliance.
  • Responsible for organizational compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to personnel matters.
  • Communicates changes in personnel policies and procedures to insure proper compliance is followed.
  • Oversees annual review process and reviews all evaluations.  Provides guidance to department managers regarding pay increase recommendations.  
  • Coordinates and/or conducts exit interviews/questionaries’ to determine reasons behind separation.  Approves and participates in involuntary terminations.
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, and/or as directed by the CEO on personnel matters.
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  • Communicates regularly with CEO about significant departmental issues.
  • Serves as consultant to hospital leaders and the Board of Directors and employees on HR-related issues.
  • Effectively and efficiently manages the resources and finances of the HR department.
  • Participates in the hiring process through advertising, screening applications, interviews, preparing new hire documents. 
  • Assists with employee benefit administration and recommends changes to Executive Management.
  • Stays abreast of FMLA legislative changes and executes FMLA documentation.
  • Provides advice and coaches staff who need assistance with employees.
  • Oversees the Payroll Coordinator and HR Personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS


·         Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field with equivalent work experience.


·         SPHR or PHR certification (preferred)


·         Minimum of 5 years HR management experience (preferably at the Manager level)


·         Hospital/Healthcare HR management/leadership experience (preferred)


·         Excellent planning, decision-making, and communication skills


·         Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees


·         Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations within the field of Human Resources


·         Ability to lead, mentor and develop other HR team members
