Position Description: The Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting at Fort Hays State University invites applications for the Director of the Robbins Banking Institute. The director oversees all operations of the institute and reports to the chair of the Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting. This is a full-time, 12-month, administrative/non-tenure-track appointment. 

Minimum Qualifications
·         Master’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related fields from a regionally accredited institution. 
 
·         Ten years of experience in banking culminating in a senior level role. 
 
Preferred Qualifications
·         Ph.D. in business, finance, economics, or related fields or a Juris Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution. 
·         At least fifteen years of experience in banking culminating in a senior level role. 
·         A track record of successfully establishing a vision, goals, and strategies and executing those in an organizational framework in the banking world. 
·         Experience in the Kansas Banking community. 
·         Experience teaching at the university level. 
·         Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities: The Director will provide leadership, coordination and instruction for the Robbins Banking Institute in the Robbins College of Business and Entrepreneurship. He or she will be the leader in building external connections for the Robbins Banking Institute. The Director will build relationships with the Kansas Bankers Association, Kansas Community Bankers Association, Fort Hays State University’s network of alumni and others in the banking industry. The Director will use these connections to bring members of the banking community to present to relevant classes and to place interns and new graduates as well as to expand the base of external support for scholarships for students studying banking. The Director may manage and coordinate student team competitions and experiential learning opportunities. The Director will typically teach two classes a semester and one in the summer. These will include a combination of on-campus and online courses. The primary teaching areas are Principles of Banking, Bank Management, and Bank Strategy. The Director may also teach in the areas of lending and compliance.

The Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting is one of four departments in the Robbins College of Business and Entrepreneurship at FHSU and offers outstanding undergraduate and graduate instruction in the accounting, economics, and finance disciplines. Currently, the degree and majors offered by the department are a B.B.A. in Accounting; a B.B.A. in Accounting with a concentration in public accounting, a B.B.A. in Finance, a B.B.A. in Finance with concentrations in banking, economics, and financial planning; and a B.B.A. in International Business and Economics. Minor programs in accounting, economics, finance, banking, and international business and economics, and certificate programs in accounting, banking, economics, finance, and insurance are also offered.
