Utilize your geotechnical expertise to support Sunflower Electric Power Corporation engineering, operations, and Member systems. We’re currently hiring a Transmission Geotechnician I-II in Hays, KS or Great Bend, KS. Here, you’ll get hands-on learning opportunities and won't have to sit at a desk all day; you will assist with transmission design and development using GIS, Civil 3D, transmission line modeling, land surveying, and project staking. This position supports land acquisition and surveying activities and gathers electrical, mechanical, and geotechnical technical data for primary design reviews.

Qualifications
- Transmission Geotechnician I: Bachelor degree in engineering technology and/or geographic information systems (GIS) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Transmission Geotechnician II: Bachelor degree in engineering technology and/or geographic information systems (GIS) and two years’ engineering, engineering support, or technical services experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of the EEI Technician Occupation (TECH) Selection System test.

EEI Testing:
We administer selection tests for a variety of positions. The required tests have been developed by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), a trade association of investor-owned electric utility companies. We strongly encourage candidates to review all the information, including the sample test brochures, and to use the available practice tests before taking the actual tests, available here:
Practice tests provide sample questions and detailed discussions of the correct answers. It's important to take the practice test as you would the actual one, with similar intensity and concentration. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer.
Note: EEI does not allow access to the actual tests. Testing sessions are held at various locations.
