Work the floor at Custom Creations. Interact and assist customers with finding pieces, schedule deliveries as needed, check out customers, count in/out cash drawer. Ensure that the store room is displayed nicely and kept clean. Educate the public on the background of Custom Creations and DSNWK as a whole. The treatment of individuals served with dignity and respect is a prime responsibility.
Essential Functions
Responsible for assisting customers in a positive manner.
Rotate weekly schedule including Saturdays.
Scheduling deliveries for large pieces within city limits.
Counting in/out cash drawer to ensure the drawer is balanced out.
Running report in the Square system at the beginning and end of shift.
Keep the environment clean (furniture dusted, bathrooms cleaned, trashed emptied, floor & entryway swept, etc.) and displayed in an attractive manner within the shop.
Assist with staging and putting away holiday decorations.
Ensure work hours remain within approved weekly hours unless prior approval from the Director.
Attend initial and ongoing training and meetings as required by DSNWK.
Assist with events that are part of ?The Bricks? activities or other planned events.
Promote department and agency in the community to reduce attitudinal and architectural barriers.
Become familiar with the rights of individuals served and ensure these rights are maintained at all times through appropriate verbal and physical interactions.
Represent DSNWK with professionalism and individuals served in an advocacy role in all activities.
Report health, safety, licensing and ANE issues to appropriate personnel per agency policy.
Ensure equipment runs smoothly and report issues.
Notify supervisor when supplies are running low.
HIPAA Compliance
This position is responsible for maintaining confidentiality for all PHI and ePHI that is shared with this person. This position will have access to all PHI and ePHI for individuals as required for projects and specific needs of an individual(s) served.
Other Responsibilities
Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs and Services or Manager of Employment or Custom Creations Store Coordinator.
This position is not subject to the two year training period as defined by KPERS.
Job Specifications
Education - High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience - One year experience preferred in a human services field preferred, retail, interior design, arts background preferred.
Extent of physical effort required - Routine job requirements. Little if any behavior or other physical intervention. Must be physically able to evacuate individuals served in the event of an emergency and be able to move furniture pieces throughout the store, display pieces, extended periods of standing, climb stairs, etc.
Other Requirements
Valid driver's license.
Desire to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Able to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
Work well with community members and represent the organization.
