Education Requirements: Must have a MLT license OR a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology.
Ability to perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures as assigned in accordance with established protocols.
Ability to collect laboratory specimens when scheduled or requested by the Laboratory Supervisor following established procedures.
Ability to monitor specimen processing to assure accuracy and timeliness in reporting test results.
Ability to assist the Laboratory Supervisor in the development of policies and procedures for the Laboratory Department.
Ability to monitor supply utilization and follow proper procedures when supplies need to be ordered.
Ability to operate all laboratory instrumentation, performing proper preventive maintenance procedures when assigned.
Ability to perform and record quality control procedures.
Ability to share responsibility for laboratory record keeping and reporting systems.
Ability to assume Laboratory Supervisor's responsibilities at his/her request, including, but not limited to, supervising and training other laboratory personnel, performing administrative duties, etc.
Ability to attend and participate in all service training programs organized and conducted by the Laboratory Department or the hospital.
Ability to adhere to established Personnel Policies and Procedures.
