High Plains Mental Health Center currently has a full time position opening our Woodhaven Location for a Certified Peer Specialist.


New employees will receive a $325 sign-on bonus following successful completion of their 90 day orientation period.

The Certified Peer Specialist’s work focuses on providing services to consumers through a rehabilitation and recovery focus designed to promote skills for coping with and managing psychiatric symptoms while facilitating the utilization of natural resources and the enhancement of community living skills.  The Certified Peer Specialist will assist consumers through the provision of structured and scheduled activities to emphasize the opportunity for them to support each other in the restoration and expansion of the skills and strategies necessary to move forward in recovery.


Qualifications:
(1) Must self identify as a present or former primary consumer of mental health services; (2) Have at least a BA/BS degree or be equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education with one year of experience substituting for one year of education.


Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license and a good driving record with no alcohol related incidents within the last five years. Must also be able to successfully pass an intensive background check.
