Rooks County Health Center is seeking a dependable, dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technician to join our team!
This position maintains a clean, sanitary, safe and welcoming environment throughout RCH. The ideal candidate is reliable, responsible, goal-oriented, highly motivated and flexible, with pride in doing quality work and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, exam rooms, offices, hallways, restrooms and other assigned areas
- Properly using and maintaining cleaning equipment, chemicals and supplies
- Removing trash and replenishing supplies throughout the hospital
- Handling, folding and distributing linens
- Reporting maintenance needs and safety hazards
- Following infection prevention, safety and confidentiality policies
- Assisting patients, visitors and guests as needed
- Performing other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will be trained in all areas of Environmental Services, with the opportunity to receive specialized training to routinely clean and maintain the Operating Room environment. Attention to detail, consistency and reliability are especially important in this area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; related experience preferred
- Ability to learn through on-the-job training
- Strong attendance, dependability and attention to detail
- Goal-oriented and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Flexible and willing to work collaboratively with department scheduling needs
- Professional, respectful and caring attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching and working in awkward positions. May occasionally lift, push, pull or move up to 30 pounds.
