Under the direction of the Module Coordinator – Lead Clerk and the supervision of the PPA, has these major responsibilities: independently receives, logs, prepares, scans, indexes, and releases the health record; reviews images for overall quality; performs record keeping.
Position Summary
Verifies, organizes, and/or uploads via the fax que records to be consistent for all medical records; maintains consistency on naming conventions; stays apprised of changes; completes quality checks, returns documents to departments when necessary, providing education to personnel and follows policies and procedures.
Documents, copies, and maintains record forms following master list of document types and record retention policy.
Cleans, maintains, and ensures equipment is in proper working order; removes any non-functioning equipment and reports appropriately.
Schedules training and education of scanning and fax queue to all new staff and current staff, completes check off sheet for competencies, instrumental in implementation of scanning and fax queue.
