Human Resources Generalist
The City of Hays’ Human Resources Department is looking for a dependable Human Resources Generalist. Duties include recruitment, benefit administration, providing employee and citizen assistance, scheduling meetings, reviewing and paying invoices, conducting new employee orientations, scheduling events, entering payroll information, filing, data entry, and other clerical duties.
Typical work schedule is Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
REQUIREMENTSValid Kansas driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED required. College degree is preferred. The ideal candidate would have a working knowledge of terminology of human resources management, the ability to solve problems, and a thorough knowledge of office procedures. This employee must have strong oral and written communication, public relation, and organizational skills.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Applicant must reside within a 40-minute response time of Hays within 6 months of employment. Job offer is contingent on passing a pre-employment physical.
