Director of Convention & Visitors Bureau
The City of Hays, Kansas (pop. 21,500) is looking for its next Director of Convention & Visitors Bureau. This director level position manages Convention & Visitors Bureau operations, leads strategic marketing and promotional efforts to increase visitation, overnight stays, and local economic impact.
This position also serves as the primary liaison to tourism and community partners, supports event recruitment & visitor services, manages the CVB budget and performance reporting, and supervises staff to ensure effective, high-quality program delivery.
Requirements: Requires 3–5 years related experience and a valid driver’s license. Strong communications, supervisory, and marketing skills are essential. Must be able to work after hours and weekends as needed. Per policy this employee would have to live within city limits within six months of hire.
Hiring Pay Range: $86,000 — $96,000 plus excellent benefits
