High Plains Mental Health Center currently has a full time position opening in the Hadley Building for an ACT Certified Peer Specialist.

New employees will receive a $325 sign-on bonus following successful completion of their 90 day orientation period.

The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team provides non-traditional community based mental health treatment to promote the recovery and community integration of adults with serious mental illnesses and co-occurring substance use and/or serious co-occurring physical health conditions. The ACT Certified Peer Specialist will be expected to manage his/her own schedule and will also be expected to work in a team environment.  The vast majority of services will take place in consumer’s homes and/or in the community.


Qualifications:
(1) Must have “lived experience” and a personal recovery story specific to a behavioral health condition; (2) Have at least a Bachelor’s degree or be equivalently qualified by a combination of education and work experience in a human service field.


Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license and a good driving record with no alcohol related incidents within the last five years. Must also be able to successfully pass an intensive background check.
