Job Purpose: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overall inventory accuracy within the facilities as well as material movement within the warehouse.
Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Inputs materials receiving data and does bin location updates and production information updates.
2. Performs accurate cycle counts and logs incoming parts.
3. Read and interpret production schedules. Work in conjunction with other departments to meet production deadlines.
4. Investigates quantity discrepancies oversees cycle counts, and updates quantities on hand.
5. Inspects tank heads and castings as needed.
6. Maintains warehouse rack organization, loads and unloads steel bar sock, pipe, and plates per safety instructions.
7. Performs kitting operations for special projects and maintains exception reports for parts. Generates report to show percentage complete for upcoming projects.
*Computer skills are a must; proficiency in Inventory Management/ERP systems preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, kneel, climb stairs and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for men or 30 pounds for women. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
2. The work environment is usually an indoor warehouse setting with frequent exposure to outside elements. The noise level in the work environment is frequently high. This position requires infrequent travel, which may involve exposure to extreme weather elements.
