The Medical Coder is responsible for carrying out professional Health Information responsibilities to the established standards and policies.
Qualifications:
One to two years of experience in Health Information Management practices.
Computer proficiency and word processing experience.
Ability to operate office machines (scanners, copiers, etc.).
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS, and CPT coding.
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), coding certificate from an accredited institution, or currently enrolled in coding classes.
