Join our Access Team Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm. The Program Assistant provides receptionist, clerical, planning and organizing support for Transportation Services as required by the Transportation Manager, Director of Administrative Services, or their designee. Starting wage $14.00/hour; wage increase available contingent on experience.

Essential Functions
Assist with incoming/outgoing communications via telephone, transportation building visitors, email, taking messages and assuring positive public relations for Transportation Services and DSNWK.

Perform data entry and word processing for department related duties. Follow up and work with all locations on missing information contained in the inspection sheets, trip logs for all DSNWK agency vehicles.

Notify the Transportation Manager and the Director of Administrative Services of all reported accidents and maintain an accident report file.

Gather needed information for all grants. 

Notify employees of the expiration date of their KDOT physical and schedule physical appointments. 

Keep record of all employees required courses and to follow up when their courses are about to expire.

Maintain, purchase or order department supplies as needed.

Assist with coordinating department routine duties and addressing inquiries.

Maintain room scheduling, master key box, office bulletin board, and central filing system.

Maintain filing systems including vehicle information, insurance, registration, and grants.

Maintain all files in accordance with FTA/KDOT and DSNWK in the storage room.

Attend and participate in all Safety Committee meetings scheduled at DSNWK. This position will also be responsible to conduct drills and complete all required safety inspections, except the generator checks.

Other Responsibilities
Complete other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager or Director of Administrative Services.

Will have access to PHI and EPHI of individuals that would be related to the safety of the individual while being transported.

This position is not subject to the two year training period as defined by KPERS.

Job Specifications
Education - High School diploma or equivalent required, related post-secondary certification preferred.

Experience - Two years related experience including being proficient in using computers required.

Extent of physical effort required: Routine job requirements. Little if any behavior or other physical intervention.

Comments: Position may have other physical requirements for specific work sites, i.e. climbing stairs, extended periods of standing, etc.

Other Requirements
Able to exercise good judgement and discretion in handling confidential information.

Valid driver's license.
