We are seeking a Welding Technician to join our team in Hays! This is a full-time / benefit eligible position, Monday through Friday starting at 6 am. No nights / weekends or holidays required.
The person in this role operates Tig and Mig welders; ensures quality of all welds; maintains a safe working environment; contributes to team effort.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitates the fusing of production materials by Tig and Mig welding mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel; understanding various weld form symbols on blueprints and understanding size of fillet forms; welding both vertical and horizontal plane geometry; understanding various edge preps before welding;
- Ensures the quality of all welds by using and maintaining the proper equipment for each weld; examining work pieces for defects and measuring work piece with straightedge, tape measure, or template to ensure conformance with specifications; adhering to ISO and FDA regulations
- Maintains a safe working environment by attending safety training; cleaning and maintaining a clean work area
- Accomplish company and organizational mission by contributing to team effort and handling other duties as assigned assisting in the overall success of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Detail oriented
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds required.
- Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
- Ability to become qualified to perform Lock‐Out/Tag‐Out procedures.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time; up to 80% of day.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2‐4 years of experience required.
