HESS Services Concrete department is expanding! We're hiring a Concrete Batch Plant Operator. This is a key position in a busy, growing department for one of the area's largest private employers.
Looking for smart, self-initiated, organized person –we can train the position!!
This position is responsible for the set up and tear down, operation, maintenance and record keeping of our mobile concrete batch plant. Assist with the coordination of daily plant activities such as scheduling truck drivers and ordering plant materials. Manage controls to heat, weigh and mix aggregate, cement, and water to produce concrete that conforms to processing specifications. Responsible for repairing machinery, using hand tools and power tools. Helpful to have prior concrete experience but not required, we will train the right person.
Monday-Friday schedule with lots of Overtime opportunity!! The hours may be long and vary day to day, so schedule flexibility is a must. Computer skills are required, but will train on the specific program.
General tasks include the following:
-Creates new concrete mix batches through use of computerized plant control system.
-Oversees Ready-Mix drivers and communicates delivery and route information as needed.
-Operates and maintains batch plant control system.
-Operates machine loader in order to fill aggregate bins.
-Takes incoming customer orders for concrete and handles all paperwork associated.
-Monitors and maintains all raw material inventories including documentation of any discrepancies and reorders of materials as needed.
-Weighs sand to determine percentage of moisture content and usability.
-Tests consistency of concrete batches by performing a concrete “slump test” to assess the ease of flow ability.
