This position oversees custodial staff and student employees and manages cleaning operations for Athletic Facilities and Cunningham Hall. The primary function of this position is to manage the workflow and needs of a custodial team. This position will frequently interact with students, faculty, staff and campus visitors. Responsible for set-ups and teardowns for athletic and special events. 

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM shift, occasional weekend coverage is required.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalency. A minimum of one year of custodial experience, including lead worker or supervisory experience and/or training.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of materials, equipment and practices used in custodial operations.
  • Ability to organize daily, weekly, and monthly job duty tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee, organize, and schedule the work activities of employees and student workers engaged in cleaning, minor maintenance, and other related activities.
  • Select, hire, train, and supervise custodial employees and student workers.
  • General maintenance of equipment
  • Oversee time and leave for the custodial team.
  • Acquire needed supplies and materials for the department. Maintain accurate records of department inventory.
  • Provide on-site inspections of facilities, rooms, storage areas, fixtures, hallways, and custodial equipment to examine work results.
  • Facilitate standard safety practices and the correct use and care of all equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Work with University staff in order to clarify, monitor, and complete work requests. Resolve any complaints or problems regarding custodial staff.
