WHAT YOU’LL DO: 
· Conduct psychiatric assessments and diagnose mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders. 
· Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, and monitor therapeutic response and side effects. 
· Deliver evidence-based crisis intervention and trauma-informed care. 
· Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and behavioral health staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. 
· Lead efforts in suicide prevention, risk assessment, and behavioral de-escalation. 
· Contribute to discharge planning, continuity of care, and patient education. 
· Ensure compliance with Kansas regulations regarding mental health, seclusion/restraint, and crisis protocols. 
· Participate in team training, emergency preparedness, and facility policy development. 
· Mentor nursing staff and support a culture of clinical excellence and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS 
· Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Kansas, with prescriptive authority. 
· Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) Board Certification (preferred), or commitment to acquiring PMHNP-BC. 
· Minimum 1 year of psychiatric/mental health experience; 3+ years preferred. 
· CPR and First Aid certified (provided by our Center) 
· Demonstrated ability to assess/manage psychiatric emergencies. 
· Strong foundation in psychopharmacology, crisis stabilization, and trauma-informed care. 
· Completion of required health screenings (TB testing, mental & medical clearance). 
· Successful background checks (KBI and KDADS).
