Hours:
12 Month Position, 40 Hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily on days when school is in session.
Compensation:
$14.42 - 16.27 per hour based on experience/skills
A Migrant Education Parent Liaison bridges the gap between schools, the community, and migrant families to support student success. They identify eligible families, facilitate communication (often in a second language), and connect families with social services, academic resources, and school activities to minimize barriers to education.
Qualifications:
- Must have a secondary school diploma or equivalency.
- Must have completed two years of study at an institution of higher education or obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree or pass a formal state or local academic assessment.
- Bilingual Preferred.
As an ELL you will be under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties such as proctoring study halls to enable them to contribute to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development.
Qualifications Profile:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
- Prior experience working with special needs children desirable.
