Position Overview
The Dietary Manager will manage staff to assure that food is prepared in accordance with sanitary regulations and meets quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for food purchase, production, and timely service of meals.
· Schedules work hours and assignments, reviews, and checks work performance.
· Assists in development of policies and procedures, menus, job descriptions, and cleaning schedules.
· Checks in and inventories food and supplies.
· Assures that proper storage is available and handling of food and supplies complies with current guidelines.
· Assists in processing new diet orders and changes.
· Assists in planning, preparation, and service of holiday, special meals, and functions.
· Maintains standardized recipes and adjust as needed.
· Assists in hiring, orienting, training, and disciplining of staff.
· Assures that food and supplies are available for use of dietary personnel.
· Enforces rules and regulations of the facility and department.
· Assists in inspecting department regularly to ensure that it is safe and sanitary.
· Assists in cleaning as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school graduate or equivalent.
· Previous food service experience.
· Must obtain CDM within a year of start date.
