Fort Hays State University (FHSU) Department of Nursing, as part of the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences (CHBS), is seeking a full-time, nine-month nursing faculty for undergraduate studies to commence January 21, 2025.  The Department of Nursing serves undergraduate students in a pre-licensure BSN program and a virtual RN to BSN program. The position serves in the role of Assistant Professor and will teach and participate in service and scholarship to equal a full-time load in the department. This is an on-campus position and is responsible for in classroom teaching both in person and virtual and attending undergraduate clinicals with at least 50% of the position serving in the simulation lab to assist faculty in simulations and to train faculty in the use of simulation equipment. Travel to regional teaching institutions to assist with simulations may be required. Scholarship will be required. This is a tenured position.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing and with admission to a MSN program. Candidate must have a plan of study on file and continue taking courses without pause until the MSN degree is complete. The candidate must have an RN license (Kansas or eligible).

  • Strong computer and technology skills
  • Experience in simulation

About the Department:  Fort Hays State University Department of Nursing serves undergraduate students in a pre-licensure BSN program and a virtual RN to BSN program. The department offers a Master’s of Nursing Education degree and a Master’s of Nursing Administration degree. In addition, the department offers a Doctorate of Nursing Practice program with an emphasis as a Family Nurse Practitioner for BSN to DNP students and a Post Master’s Doctorate of Nursing Practice program for APRNs.
