Job Description: This is a full-time staff position that reports to the Dean of the Graduate School. A Degree Analyst evaluates student transcripts in order to ensure graduation requirements are fulfilled. Assists students with registration and academic records management. Performs degree audits for petitioning graduates and notifies them of any outstanding issues. Provides information regarding the equivalency and transferability of courses and credits from other institutions.  A successful candidate must have strong organizational skills: the ability to multitask; work independently; and communicate with a diverse group of individuals. 
 
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree and one year of working with audits, databases, or similar systems. 
 
Preferred Qualifications
·         Education beyond a bachelor’s degree 
·         More than one year of working with audits, databases, or similar systems 
·         Excellent written communication skills 
·         Highly proficient with Microsoft Office as evidenced by application materials 
·         Experience working in a university setting 
·         Exceptional customer service skills 
·         Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment 
·         Experience with:  CICS, Perceptive Content, Workday 
 
Salary: $15.75 per hour 
 
Appointment Date:  Start date to be determined after acceptance of an offer and completion of criminal background check.

Responsibilities: 
·         Maintains current graduate program course requirements for each graduate major based on information provided by advisors, department chairs, and administration. 
·         Communicates Graduate School policy and procedures to students, advisors and department chairs. 
·         Reviews programs of study submitted by advisors. 
·         Provides and updates individual program information to graduate students. Advises graduate students regarding file status, deadlines and time limits for completing a degree. 
·         Coordinates signing up for comprehensive examinations and reports the results. 
·         Monitors programs and other requirements for degree completion, comparing programs to transcripts. Transfers approved graduate courses from other universities to Fort Hays State University transcript. Checks grade point average to determine admissibility for graduation.  Contacts advisors and/or students concerning deficiencies. 
·         Awards degrees when all requirements are achieved by the end of the semester.  
·         Advises graduate students regarding guidelines for completing theses and field studies to meet Graduate School standards. 
·         Coordinates Graduate School portion of the Commencement Ceremony. 
·         Responsible for maintaining the accuracy, security and confidentiality of all Graduate School files. 
·         Analyzes daily and weekly computer reports for problem enrollments.  
·         Collects and compiles information from a variety of sources, analyzes results and prepares statistical annual reports, CGS/GRE Survey, and National Science Foundation NSF. 
·         Coordinates with staff, executive leadership, student employees, and other stakeholders in supporting strategic efforts of the Graduate School.  
·         Other duties as assigned by the Graduate Dean.
