POSITION OVERVIEW
Assembles cables and antennas partially or completely, working at bench or on shop floor by performing the following duties.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Positions parts according to manufacturing work instructions or following blueprints.
· Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners
· Removes small quantities of metal or plastic with hand files, sanders and scrapers to produce close fit between parts.
· Operates injection molders, mechanical processes, resistance welders, riveting machines, etc. to assist in assembly operation.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
· Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to use measuring devices.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); One to three months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standard: Must be able to walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs. Must have manual dexterity in order to use a computer. Must be able to climb stairs. May be exposed to manufacturing conditions.
